What Does A Kingdom Church Look Like?

Acts 1:1-14  Page #1087

The Kingdom of God is the sovereign & complete rule of God over all things. The Kingdom is now being visibly manifested through God’s born again & transformed people in everyday life. The full consummation of the Kingdom will come when God returns to earth to judge all people. Believers now live in the middle of the “already” and the “not yet” of the Kingdom.

  • Must be born again
  • Priorities become Him & His Kingdom

Questions to consider:

  1. Do you see yourself as more of a “Kingdom person” more each week and month as life goes on? If so, what is helping you the most to grow in loving His Kingdom?
  2. What is your greatest struggle in putting God’s Kingdom first over your own kingdom?
  3. Read Deuteronomy 17:14-20. Review the instructions that God gave for each King (leader) of Israel. What all do you see that the leader must do and why was it so important that the leader would develop the way God describes? How does this relate to leaders, parents, preachers etc. today?
  4. One aspect of being a Kingdom person is the desire and willingness to engage in evangelism. Discuss how your group or family could do evangelism together as a group. (Example-pray weekly for someone who needs Christ, serve together and share your faith at a place of need like the City Mission, take up a collection for a missionary,  etc.)
  5. What is your ‘Way of Evangelism”? Are you a better server and occasionally speak of Christ? Are you one who prefers to give out tracts, carry a marked Bible, ask questions and dialogue?  How will you improve your style or way of evangelism?
  6. Do you know a verse or several verses by memory to share with others concerning their need for Christ? Share with the group what verse you know. If everyone does not have Bible verses memorized - how about learning the “Roman Road” verses together and quizzing each other occasionally or practicing with each other? Are you willing to get over your fears and live by faith by God’s empowerment? (Romans 3:23-All have sinned, Romans 6:23-Wages of sin is death (sin is willful rebellion against God and His standards), Romans 5:8-God’s provision, Christ being God and man took our place on the Cross and all sins were placed on Him and He became our punishment, and Romans 10:9-We must confess our belief and believe in our heart that Jesus is the only hope as Savior and Lord)
  7. Does MCC look like a “Kingdom” church? Why or why not?
  8. Review sermon points from Sunday. Discuss how you are doing with each and share any struggles you have in order that your family or small group can pray for you.
