What Did You Expect?

  2 Samuel 6:1-11

What are expectations?

A strong belief that something will happen or that someone will or should achieve something.

Two types of expectations

1. Built on truth.
2. Built on feelings.

When our expectations don’t match our desired results                 2 Samuel 6: 1-11

1. We become angry.                                      Vs. 8
2. We become afraid.                                      Vs. 9
3. We become confused.                                  Vs. 10a
4. We abandon our effort.                                Vs. 10b

Truth:

Obedience to God is non-negotiable.

When we build our expectations on truth                                       1 Chronicles 15:1-29

       1. We prepare a proper place for the presence of God.             Vs.1

       2. We diligently search out, humbly obey and boldly proclaim the Word of God.                                                                                          Vs.2-15

       3. We serve God with excellence and Joy.                                Vs.16-25

       4. We acknowledge the power of God in our lives.                     Vs. 26 

       5. We honor God with holy living.                                            Vs.27

       6. We worship God with abandon.                                            Vs.28
