Luke 19:28-40

The Lamb Who is King  (Part 1)

                                                          Luke 19:28-40

Hebrews 13:20 - The God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord

Matthew 1:21 - "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

Mark
9:31 -
He was teaching His disciples… "The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later."

Acts 2:23 - This Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

The Lamb who is King:

I. Has authority over everything.

Colossians 1:16 - For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible & invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Romans 12:1-2 -Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may
prove what the will of God is, that which is good & acceptable & perfect.

II.  Orchestrates all events.

John 8:20 - These words He spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.

Matthew 26:3-5 - Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, named Caiaphas; and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill Him. But they were saying, "Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur
among the people."

Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you;  He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

III.  Deserves all praise.

John 12:28  - "Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again."

IV.  Offers peace with God.

Psalm 118:25-26 - O Lord, do save, we beseech You; O Lord, we beseech You, do send prosperity! 26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord; We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
