The Gospel of Deliverance

Luke 4:14-22

I.   Four General Truths

  1. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit for ministry
  2. Jesus proclaimed His faith at home
  3. Jesus met regularly with God’s people
  4. Jesus publicly read the Scriptures

II.   Characteristics of the Unbelieving:

1. Spiritually poor

Jesus said, Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.                                                         Revelation 3:17

(The unbelieving) are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart.                                                               Ephesians 4:18

2. Spiritually enslaved.

"This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil."    John 3:19

3. Spiritually blind

4. Spiritually oppressed

Ezekiel 36:26-27      Page #865

"Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.
