 I.        God planted a Vineyard
Ezekiel 16:7 - When I passed by you and saw you squirming in your blood, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!' …I made you numerous like plants of the field.

II.        Vineyard - “Nation” of Israel

Psalm 80:8 - You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it…

Isaiah 5:2 - He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones.

Ezekiel 19:12-13 - …So it withered…And now it is planted in the wilderness, In a dry and thirsty land.

III.        Vine growers - Israel’s spiritual leaders

Jeremiah 23:17 - …They speak a vision of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the Lord.

Matthew 23:13-15 - woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people……you make (your converts) twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

IV.        Slaves - His true prophets

Jeremiah 25:4 - And the Lord has sent to you all His servants the prophets again and again, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear…

vs 7 - “…did not obey…but walked in …the stubbornness of their evil heart and went backward and not forward.”

V.        Beloved Son – Jesus

Hebrews 1:3 - He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

VI.        The Church - now will bear fruit

Matthew 21:43 - Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing fruit.
