Proclaiming the Resurrected Christ as a Family
John 4:1-42

I. Engage “them.”
II. Accept them as they are.
III. Build relational bridges.
IV. Show and share the Gospel!

1. Begin with prayer.

Ezekiel 36:25-27  ….I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.

2. Listen

Proverbs 18:13 “The one who gives an answer before he listens-- this is foolishness and a disgrace for him.”

3. Eat with them.

Acts 2:42 “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

Ecclesiastes 2:24 “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This …is from the hand of God.”

4. Show you care.

1 Thessalonians 2:8 “Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.”

5. Share the Gospel Story.

Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Matthew 28:18   “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Times with the Lord this week - If you have extra time, look up the cross references with the Transformation Scripture.

#1- Reviewing this past Sunday

1. Read John 4:1-42 or pick out a verse if you have small children. Discuss Sunday’s message with someone.
2. What does it mean to proclaim the Gospel with our lives and words?
3. How is your family involved in proclaiming the Gospel together?
4. What is God saying to you, and what will be your response?

# 2- Preparing for next Sunday (Easter)

The Freedom That Comes From Knowing Christ

Luke 8:26-39

1.Read Luke 8:26-39.
2. What was wrong with the man living in the tombs?
3. How did Jesus show His authority over all that was evil?
4. What about the man changed after he met Jesus?
5. Read Luke 11:20-22. Why is it important that Jesus is greater than Satan and evil when it comes to salvation and becoming a changed person?
6. Discuss what changes have happened in you and your family by knowing Jesus, and then pray for all who will attend this Easter Sunday.
