Membership in God’s Family

Reviewing MCC’s Mission

A true member of God’s family is one who has been regenerated, (born again), by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.  This person “in Christ” now knows God as Father, Jesus as Savior and Lord and through the Holy Spirit now bears fruit demonstrating the new Life.

3.  I have been selected to bear much fruit.                John 15:7-8, 16

4.  I am completely justified, forgiven and free from condemnation.

 Monday, 9-10-12 -   Reflecting on Yesterday  

  1. Review Sunday’s message with someone. Pray through each characteristic for 30 days so that you and others would accept these truths. Ask God to convince you.

 Tuesday, 9-11-12 - Reflecting on this past Sunday

  1. Read John 1:12-14. How are we, who now believe in Christ described and why is this so important to daily living?
  2. How did we become God’s children? How did we not become God’s children according to the passage?
  3. Describe to someone else how one becomes a child of God.

 Wednesday, 9-12-12 - Reflecting on this past Sunday

1.  Read Galatians 2:20. What does God say has happened to every believer? What does this mean in relation to temptation?

2. According to the passage, how are we to live a successful daily life for Christ?

3. According to the passage, how much does God love you and why does this matter in our human relationships?

 Thursday, 9-13-12 -  Preparing for this Upcoming Sunday.

1. Read 1 Tim. 5:9-10. Why would certain people be placed on a list and what does this reveal about the early church and how they distinguished what people they should make a priority with their resources?

2. Read 1 Peter 5:1-3. What is required of church pastors?

3. How would each pastor know who is part of the flock if people do not choose to be members of a local church?

4.  What are some reasons that people might not become accountable as members of a local church?

Friday, 9-14-12 - Preparing for this Sunday

1. Read Acts 5:1-11.  What does God desire from His church?

2. When God put to death two people in the church, what was the impact on the community?

3. Why is it so important that the local church be truly born again and seeking to be Christ-like individuals?

 Saturday, 9-15-12 - Preparing for Tomorrow

1. Read Ephesians 5:18-21. How are God’s people able to live joyful and effective lives?

2. What would a church service look like according to this passage if God’s people were filled with the Holy Spirit? Pray for the worship time tomorrow.
