Male Leadership, Women, Ministry & Submission

1 Corinthians 11:1-16        Page #1148

 I. Truths for Godly Men & Women

1. Men & women in Christ are co-heirs with Christ.

…husbands…show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.                                                                                                                                                      1 Peter 3:7 (NASB)

2. All Believers have been given various temporary roles on this earth & will be fully rewarded for faithfulness.

"His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.' “                             Matthew 25:21 (NASB)

II. Why Did God Create Male Servant Leadership in the Church & Home?

 1. We reflect the Triune God.                                                   Vs.1- 3

 2. The original creation order & design of men & women.             Vs. 4-9

…the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our good always and for our survival….                                                                                                      Deuteronomy 6:24

I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.  For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.  And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.                                                                                        1 Timothy 2:12-14 (NASB)

Now a Jew named Apollos… was mighty in the Scriptures….being acquainted only with the baptism of John… he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue….when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.                                              Acts 18:24-26 (NASB)

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior….teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children…             Titus 2:3-4 (NASB)

 3. The benefit of the angels.                                                     Vs.10

 4. The clear witness of nature & the way life is meant to be.          Vs. 11-15

 5. There is no other teaching for the “Church” other than Scripture.                       Vs. 16
