Equipping Others To Be Disciples Of Jesus

Luke 6:12-19

I.          What Jesus showed us of how to disciple others:

1.          Spend time with them.

Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.

1 Thessalonians 2:8

Luke 6:40

2.         Let them fail while with us.

Luke 22:31-34

3.         Provide clear & Godly instructions.

Matthew 5:21    Page #961

Matthew 16:24-27

4.         Give them ownership & responsibility.

Matthew 10:5-15

5.        Correct them in loving righteousness.

Matthew 16:8

6.         Label them what they could become before they get there.

Matthew 16:13-18

7.         Take them into various environments to learn.

Matthew 17:1-8

8.         Equip them “in the way they should go”.

Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.                                                         Proverbs 22:6

There are three things which are too wonderful for me,Four which I do not understand:  The way of an eagle in the sky, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the middle of the sea, And the way of a man with a maid.                                            Proverbs 30:18-19

….Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.    John 13:1

9.         Love them and pray for them.
