                                                Being the Church in our
                                           Generation – Love & Holiness

                                                       Acts 2:42-47

The local church is meant to be known for…

    I.       Being an assembly of true disciples

Titus 3:5 - He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration

II.     Being Joyfully tenacious in evangelism

2 Timothy 2:10 -For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so
that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.

    III.    Love & Holiness

    1. Christ-like Love

John 13:34(Jesus said) "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one
another, even as I have loved you, …love one another.

1 John 3:18 - Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.

    2. Christ-like Purity

1 Peter 1:15-16 - Like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; … ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’

Luke 17:2 - "It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his
neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little
    ones to stumble.

2 Peter 3:13-14 - According to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new
earth, in which righteousness dwells…beloved, since you look for these things,
be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless & blameless

2 Corinthians 7:1 -Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

    1 Thessalonians 4:3-4-
For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality…

Matthew 5:29-30 - "If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

"If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

    1 John 3:10
    - By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone
who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love
    his brother
    .

1 John 3:3 - Everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 -…that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
