1. Read Luke 18:9-14.  Discuss Sunday’s message with someone.

2. How are you at times like the Pharisee or like the broken tax collector?

3. Pray for the gift of God’s brokenness and for dependency upon Him.

Tuesday, 4-23-13 - Reflecting on this Past Sunday

1. What moved the Pharisee to pray? (11)

2. Describe the Pharisee’s prayer? (11-12)

3. Why was the Pharisee confident in his own goodness? (11-12)

4. What does the tax collector's posture reveal about his heart? (13)

5. What prompted the tax collector to cry out? (13)

6. Describe in your own words how the tax collector prayed. (13)

7. Pray using the passage about your heart and for others.

Wednesday, 4-24-13 - Reflecting on this Past Sunday

1. In Luke 18:9-14, one man went home justified (forgiven and declared righteous). Read Rom. 3:21-26. How do we become righteous with God?

2. Now read Romans 3:27-28. What would you say to someone who says we must have faith in Christ AND do good deeds, certain rituals, etc. to be acceptable with God?

3. Pray for a deeper understanding of the sufficiency of Jesus Christ.

Thursday, 4-25-13 - Preparing for this Upcoming Sunday

1. Read Luke 18:15-17. - Being Used To Bring Children To Christ

2. What negative changes do you think have impacted America’s children the most in your lifetime?

3. Who made you feel most loved as a child and in what ways?

4. Why were the people bringing the children to Jesus? (15)

5. What do you think the children saw in Jesus?

6. Pray for God to use us at MCC to bless the next generation.

Friday, 4-26-13 - Preparing Ourselves for this Sunday

1. Read Luke 18:15-17.

2. What attitude did Jesus have concerning children? (15-16)

3. What did Jesus say about children? (16)

4. What did He say about adults? (17) Pray for someone to receive the    Lord in total trust as a child.

Saturday, 4-27-13 - Preparing for Tomorrow

1. Read Luke 18:15-17.

2. What does He say will happen to everyone who does not accept the   Kingdom as a child? (17)

3. Read Psalm 4:5.  Pray for tomorrow.
