A REFLECTION OF GOD’S HAND IN MY LIFE

TITUS 2:11-15

REFLECTIONS ON GOD’S GRACE IMPORTANT TO ME

A. BIBLICAL DISCIPLINE IS NECESSARY IN A CHILD’S LIFE

“A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but he who regards reproof is sensible.”               Proverbs 15:5

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

B.  BIBLICAL ROLE MODELS OF MEN AND WOMEN FORM A CHILD’S IDEOLOGY

C.  BIBLICAL PATTERN OF LIFESTYLES LEAVES A LASTING IMPRESSION IN A CHILD’S HEART

D.  RAISE YOUR CHILDREN TO LEAVE HOME

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife…”      Genesis 2:24

E.  INDEPENDENCE BUILDS CHARACTER AND IS CONVICTING

F.  GOD’S DISCIPLINE IN OUR LIVES SHOULD BE REASSURING

G.  PRAY FAITHFULLY AND UNCEASINGLY FOR THE NON BELIEVER; TRUSTING GOD

  1. AGE IS A NUMBER; STORE UP TREASURE IN HEAVEN

Remember, children look to parents for reassurance and guidance.  Likewise, the younger generation is looking to my generation and older for reassurance and guidance as we deal with aging, sickness, and the certainty of death.  How do they see your “blessed hope”?

I.   STAY FOCUSED ON FUTURE GRACE

a. “When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish….”  Proverbs 11:7

b. Colossians 3:1-4
