 Reviewing This Past Sunday

God Delivers: The Loving Lawgiver

Exodus 20:1-11

 1. Read Exodus 20:1-2 and ask the Lord to reveal His words to you.

2. Why is it significant that these two verses precede the 10 commandments?

3. In what ways has God given you freedom from your past?

4. In what ways has God given you freedom from sin?

5. What sin do you often return to? How can you be reminded of God’s deliverance from slavery to sin?

6. In what areas of your life is God not first? Spend time in prayer, and remember that we serve a God that restores.

7. Reflect for a moment how God has restored you. Discuss and celebrate with someone else.

8. Pray that God would continue to make you more like Christ.

 Preparing for Next Sunday

God Delivers: God of Our Relationships

Exodus 20:12-21

 1. Read Exodus 20:12-21 and ask the Lord to reveal Himself and His truth.

2. HIGHLIGHT a verse or truth that stands out to you and write it out.

3. EXPLAIN the text in your own words to make sure you see the big picture of God’s Story. (Who wrote it and why? To whom it was written? What is the context? How does the text point to the Father, Son or Spirit? What is the text telling me about my new identity as a believer in Christ or how I am to live?)

4. APPLY a truth from the text to your own life. (Focus on what God is saying to you and what is your act of obedience, confession, prayer, praise, giving thanks, etc.)

5. RESPOND in prayer and go apply what God reveals to you from the Scriptures.
