Prophets and Kings: “The God Who Whispers”

Kings 19

 I. The God who whispers is found in triumph and despair.

Psalm 43:5 – “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God.”

1 Peter 5:7 - “…casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”

Psalm 8:4 - “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You care for him?”

Psalm 103:13-14 – “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.”

II. The God who whispers defines “enough.”

Matthew 6:26, 7:9-11

Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

John 14:6

III. The God who whispers seeks relationships.

1 John 4:10 – “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

Acts 17:27

Ephesians 1:4-6 – “…even as he chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will,  to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.

John 15:9

IV. The God who whispers is faithful to fulfill His covenant in Jesus.

Luke 9:30

Galatians 3:22 – “But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.”

2 Corinthians 1:19-22

Luke 24:27 – “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

Matthew 5:17-18 - “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.  For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”
