When you feel God call you into the mission field it’s easy to ask, “Why Me?”. We have all seen and heard how impoverished certain countries are. It’s evident that there is much work to be done to help the needy. At times it feels that there are others who are much more skilled than I that could do the work. Does this sound familiar?
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, this is not “rocket science”. Being called in to the mission field is not about individuals, or an individuals goals or giftings, it is about God and what He is going to do through the body of Christ.
MCC has taken many mission trips and has witnessed many lives changed through baptisms, through street evangelism, the healing hands of our doctors, through a pair of eyeglasses enabling a ninety year old man to see for the first time, in the eyes of the children hearing the Gospel for the first time through our children’s ministry, through the personal relationships built with the interpreters we hire, and the seven young shoe shine boys. With each trip we go on we continue to receive answers to our similar question, “Why Me?
"The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9
"For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Mark 10:45
"Give me your heart, my son and let your eyes delight in my ways." Proverbs 23:26
"I will praise you, Oh LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders." Psalm 9:1
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart exults, and with my song I will thank Him." Psalm 28:7
Here at MCC we continue to serve on the mission field in many ways, locally and abroad. We serve and support at the Erie City Mission, The Women’s Care Center, My Sister’s Closet as well as hospital visits and prepared meals for those in need. We have sent and support Pastor Rob & Melissa Dunn, our first missionary couple, to Hato Mayor, Republic of Dominicana. As well as providing & participating in two mission trips a year to the Dominican Republic.
There are many ways you can help support MCC Missions. You can serve in one or more areas listed. You can go on an international mission trip. You could financially support and send someone on a trip or you could donate financially or purchase items needed for our mission trips.
