Real Joy: Finishing Well

Posted by Todd Cyphers on

Dung! He said his religious life was all manure. Paul let everything go concerning his performing, trying and self-sufficient religious past in order to have Christ. Lord willing, this Sunday we will hear a testimony from a man at MCC who came to realize just how treacherous a life of self centeredness, self righteousness and, self pity can be to our own hearts as well as being toxic to the lives of others. “Knowing Christ” is our focus Sunday. Really knowing Him means to have intimate communion with Him that leads to a transformation in our lives.

"But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith…"  (Philippians 3:7-9)
