Dear Parents,
As the flu season is quickly approaching we want to give you some updates on the H1N1 virus and remind you of our policy regarding bringing sick children to church. As our policy booklet states we ask that if your child is exhibiting any of the following symptoms or has any of the following diseases, please do NOT bring him/her to church:
• Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater • Impetigo/Ringworm • Active chicken pox • Measles
• Mumps • Conjunctivitis (pink eye) • Rash • Coughy • Diahrrhea • Runny nose (thick and/or colored)
For most illnesses, your child may return to the room once he/she has been on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours. Some illnesses such as ringworm and diarrhea require the symptoms to be completely gone before he/she returns.
We will continue to clean our toys weekly, have children sanitize their hands before snacks and encourage our volunteers to stay home if they are feeling ill. We will also keep a thermometer on hand to check children’s temperatures if they seem warm. We are committed to our families here at MCC and will strive to maintain a healthy environment.
You can click on the links below to read a letter that was sent to school parents and the Top ten tips for preventing the spread of flu from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Department of Education regarding the H1N1 virus.
Because of His Grace,
